Kasten K10 V5.0 improves Kubernetes data management

Kasten by Veeam’s Kubernetes K10 V5.0 data management platform focuses on risk management strategy and streamlining CI/CD pipelines.

Key new features of Kasten K10 V5.0 include:

• Integration with AWS KMS and HashiCorp Vault, ransomware attack detection with AWS S3 or S3 compatible storage supporting S3 Object Lock, and support for Veeam-hardened Linux repositories with immutability.

• Fully integrated add-ons for Amazon EKS Blueprints and Level III certified Red Hat OpenShift Operator, integrated Kanister Blueprints for MS SQL and PostgreSQL Operator, and a new report builder.

• Integrations with Red Hat Marketplace, Suse Rancher Marketplace, VMware vSphere with Tanzu and Falco.

“While ransomware attacks remain the top concern for enterprises, a comprehensive risk management strategy to help continuously identify risks, protect data, detect attacks and provide disaster recovery for cloud-native applications is crucial. said Kasten by Veeam Vice President of Products and Partnerships Gaurav Rishi.

“Our latest release remains focused on helping businesses minimize the financial impact caused by attacks on cloud data and applications. At the same time, we’re also addressing developers’ needs for backup solutions that not only integrate with the CI/CD tools they use, but pave the way for automation to discover and protect applications as they are deployed.”

Veeam CTO Danny Allan said, “Cloud-native applications are being developed at a pace never seen before, and with DevOps and left-shift principles, deploying applications in Kubernetes is faster and much more scalable. Yet, at the same time, backing up Kubernetes applications remains a constant challenge.

“This latest release provides secure backup and recovery for Kubernetes data and applications while removing the complexity of deploying and operating Kubernetes in the enterprise. As more Veeam customers look to leverage Kubernetes , Kasten K10 V5.0’s ease of use will be key to supporting data protection and backup in their new environments.”

Veeam Global Senior Technologist Michael Cook told iTWire that K10 V5.0 is easier to deploy thanks to its appearance in marketplaces such as Rancher, and brings observability to Kubernetes environments.

General availability of Kasten K10 V5.0 is expected in June 2022. A free trial is available.
