RTA improves 10 internal bus routes using customer feedback and data analysis

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has improved 10 bus routes across the emirate, following a study and big data analysis based on the crowdsourced features of the RTA Dubai smart app , which allowed the public to submit comments, suggestions and comments.

“In 2021, we received through the RTA Dubai app 7,319 interactions and 6,678 proposals for new bus routes. Out of 413 votes received, 265 votes called for the launch of a bus service from Al Qusais to Al Maktoum International Airport,” said Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency, RTA.

“We also received 641 votes for other proposed routes. As a result, we have made improvements to 10 public bus routes in Dubai,” he said.

“In line with our government’s vision to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world, and RTA’s drive to digitize and delight people by improving the caliber of mobility services in the emirate , we have introduced customer feedback or crowdsourcing features to our app, so customers can suggest the opening of new bus routes or improvements to existing services via polls in the app .

“This step aims to inspire the public to further integrate Dubai’s bus network and meet the growing needs of bus users, be they residents, visitors or tourists. The initiative, which is the first of its kind in the region, also aims to collect public proposals on the introduction of new bus stops and the improvement of existing bus routes, which will increase user satisfaction and happiness. existing ones and will also attract new ones,” added Shakri.

The Director of Planning and Business Development of the Public Transport Agency renewed RTA’s commitment to take into account the opinions and proposals of customers in the expansion of public transport in general, in particular bus lines which are essential to the functioning of the network.
