Seagate and EVS Join Forces to Address M&E Data Management Challenges

Seagate and EVS are collaborating to provide high-capacity mobile storage and data transfer services for media and entertainment companies.

This collaboration revolves around the Seagate Lyve Mobile data storage and transfer service and EVS’ LiveCeption Signature live production and replay solution. Using the EVS solution supports live broadcasts meeting fast turnaround constraints while transporting multi-camera content and metadata through the Lyve Mobile offering to the intended landing destination – whether it’s be it a site, archive or post-production.

“The full value of a digital workflow depends on technologies that can deliver the right content at the right time to the right audience at all times, without compromising quality at any stage. M&E organizations today need to implement new data management strategies that can handle increased volumes of data (UHD, multi-camera) while enabling the frictionless movement of their workflow,” says Melyssa Banda, Seagate vice president for Lyve Mobile Solutions. “The addition of Lyve Mobile to EVS’ live production solutions responds to changing industry needs and provides businesses with the latest innovative storage technologies.”

Lyve Mobile solutions are purpose-built to securely address industry-specific mass data mobility challenges: from capturing, archiving and copying data, to access needs for production and remote or on-site post-production where data compliance and security requirements are top of mind.

“With the large amount of multi-camera sources being recorded and the use of higher resolutions, customers are increasingly concerned about bandwidth constraints,” says Laurent Petit, SVP Products & Solutions at EVS. “Using Seagate’s Lyve Mobile service with EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution enables our customers to move content securely and more efficiently. The feedback we’ve received from early adopters is very promising. »
