Technomar Shipping selects RINACube platform for MRV-DCS-CII collection and reporting across its entire fleet
Technomar Shipping has signed a contract with RINA for software licenses to use the RINACube MRV-DCS-CII data collection and reporting platform on 105 of its vessels. The RINACube MRV-DCS-CII web application will be used on board each vessel to collect the data required by the EU MRV and IMO DCS regulations. Using the collected data, the software calculates and obtains information about the current CII rating of the vessels and a projection of the CII rating to the coming years.
The information it provides will allow Technomar to anticipate any potential problems and take the necessary corrective measures in a timely manner to maintain compliance with new environmental regulations. Theodore Baltatzis, Managing Director of Technomar Shipping, said: “Decarbonizing our fleet is a top priority. Using RINA’s digital tools, we will gather the information we need to fine-tune vessel performance, improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, ensure compliance with changing environmental regulations and guide strategic decision-making. Going forward, timely and accurate data will be essential to support the collaboration between shipowners and charterers that will be necessary to successfully optimize vessel operating profiles and CII ratings.”
As a web-based application, the software will provide data access to shore and shipboard personnel and present vessel CII rating information in a clear and efficient manner. Spyros Zolotas, RINA Marine Southern Europe & Africa Area Senior Director, added: “We are very pleased to have won this contract with Technomar for their entire fleet. Supporting the shipping industry to achieve its decarbonization goals is a top priority for RINA. Although we are involved in many projects to develop technologies and new fuels to reach net zero, our digital tools offer a very effective way to improve the performance and efficiency of vessels, thus reducing emissions today. “.
